Best Western and Traveling Pets

I am on the last two nights of my family vacation and have spent every other night of this trip in tears about the pet policies and the fees I have been charged by Best Western Hotels. All of the hotels I've stayed in accept pets, but only 20 percent of them were actually pet friendly.

I would say that Best Western ruined by family vacation with the ridiculous pet policies of most of their hotels. I made reservations through Bestwestern.com. Many times I would drive 10 hours in a day, just to find that the hotel did not know that I was bringing my pet. Some hotels accommodated me, but charged me higher rates because no pet was expected.

The hotel I am in tonight only places pets in smoking rooms. Gross. Cigarettes are nasty, my dog is not. I have allergies and should not ever be put in a cigarette room. Once again, I am overcharged and have no choice but to stay here because they will bill my credit card anyway.

Many hotels do not want pets on the beds. My dog is cleaner than most people. Do they demand that everyone shower before they sleep in their bedding? I feel that Best Western Hotels have misrepresented their amenities and I have been cheated out of an enjoyable family vacation because of their discriminatory policies. Pets are people too. They are part of a family and should not have to spend the night in a kennel crying because of stupid hotel policies.

Next year, I will not use Best Western or at least not exclusively.
